Final Post: Iran Nuclear Talks

This blog throughout the past few months has covered many different aspects of the Iranian nuclear talks. One of the important things covered the history of the relationship of the Western World, specifically the United States. The fact that they were able to get together is significant because they have not had the best of relationships for many years; in fact Iran had been anti-west for many years now. Within looking at the history we also uncovered that the United Nations and the US has for years now have been worried of Iran having nuclear capabilities and have passed resolutions which limit Iran’s nuclear capabilities and have even imposed some trade restrictions on Iran. The blog also explored how that the Western world fears Iran having a nuclear program because of the unstable relation and see the Iranian nuclear program as a threat to the rest of world.
Most of the research done on this blog came from online resources mostly articles. Since the Iran Nuclear talks was a significant historic event, because it is the first time any deal could be reached with Iran, there were many online articles for us to use and find information on the talks itself. The downside of some those articles is that many of the articles were biased or one sided, however; that did become useful because we got to see the different feelings and opinions on the issue as well. A tool that we used to share information was a Google doc that all members of the group had access to, in which if one person found something they would go on the Google doc and share it with the rest of the group and the person writing the blog for that time

I learned many different things about this topic that I did not know before. For example I was not aware of Iran’s economic ties with Russia. During around the time of the beginning of the Russia moving forces into Crimea, I remember looking at an article in which point out that Russia, if sanctions imposed on them could effect the process with the nuclear talks in Iran. It was also interesting to find out about Isreal’s point of view on the talk’s and how they believe the talks won’t really make much of a difference. I also learned a few things on the research end of creating this blog as well, such as communication. I felt at times it was hard to get ahold of some members of the group, so we should have been a little more coherent in that matter. In the end I found that this entire process I have ended up learning about the issue and different perspective and learned that this isn’t really a black and white issue, there are many different parts to it.
